GTA 6 launches on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19, 2026. A PC version has not been officially announced, but a widely-reported leak points to February 2027 as the target date. When it does arrive, it will almost certainly be one of the most demanding PC games ever released.
Rockstar has not published official PC requirements yet. They are expected to be announced in the weeks before the PC launch — likely January 2027 if the February 2027 leak is accurate.

Based on the visual fidelity of the Extended Look and Rockstar's history of PC ports, here are our educated estimates for minimum requirements:
GTA 6 includes real-time weather simulation, dynamic NPC AI across massive distances, 700+ enterable buildings, ray-traced lighting across Vice City's neon skyline, and what appears to be the most detailed open world ever built. The PS5 and Xbox Series X are essentially mid-range PCs — meaning a comparable PC experience at 1080p/60fps is achievable on recent mid-range hardware, but 4K/60fps will require top-tier 2026-era GPUs.

GTA 5 launched on PC in April 2015 with requirements that were considered demanding at the time. Here's what GTA 5 needed — and why GTA 6 will need significantly more:
GTA 6 is built for PS5/Xbox Series X hardware — roughly equivalent to a high-end PC from 2021-2022. The baseline is far above GTA 5 in every dimension.
GTA 6's texture and asset quality will push VRAM requirements hard. At 1440p with high settings, 8GB VRAM will likely be the minimum — but 10-12GB is safer. At 4K with full detail, 16GB VRAM or more will be needed for stable performance.
Cards in a good position: RTX 3060 (12GB) for 1080p-1440p; RTX 4070 (12GB) for smooth 1440p; RTX 4080/4090 for 4K. On AMD, the RX 7800 XT (16GB) or RX 7900 XT (20GB) offer excellent VRAM headroom.
PS5 and Xbox Series X|S use ultra-fast SSDs as a core architectural requirement — GTA 6 streams its world based on that speed. On PC, a fast NVMe SSD will almost certainly be required, not just recommended. A traditional HDD will produce constant stuttering or fail minimum specs entirely.
If you currently run HDDs, budget for at least a 1TB NVMe SSD. GTA 6 will likely need 130-160GB of storage space.
If your PC doesn't meet GTA 6's requirements, cloud gaming is a legitimate option. NVIDIA GeForce NOW and Xbox Cloud Gaming both let you stream demanding titles from remote servers. You'll need a stable connection (25Mbps minimum, 50Mbps+ ideal). For a single-player campaign, cloud gaming works well — just not for low-latency competitive play.
